Contract Programmer Agreement

WHEN TO USE: The Contract Programmer Agreement is used for those instances where a programmer will be engaged as an independent contractor. It is written in a fashion where it is focused on the Individual Programmer who is bringing hourly labor to a project. This is different than the type of agreement where there is a defined project plan to develop to. The Contract Programmer Agreement is an open-ended agreement where the work can change as defined in an Exhibit which is to be attached. Furthermore, because this falls under "work for hire" laws, except for those intellectual property assets that the programmer brings to the engagement, the rights to the work product will be owned by the hiring company. The Contract Programmer Agreement is perfect for a situation where staff augmentation for software development is needed.
